Research on the Competitive Effects and Anti-Monopoly Regulation of Platform Algorithmic Pricing: A Case Study of the Digital Content Industry
Abstract
Against the backdrop of the rapid development of the digital content industry, platform algorithmic pricing has become an important tool influencing the market competition landscape and is now shifting towards regulatory research. This paper takes the digital content industry as an example to construct a theoretical model of platform algorithm pricing and analyze the transmission path of its influence mechanism on enterprise competition strategies, consumer welfare, and market efficiency. Research has found that while algorithmic pricing enhances the operational efficiency of platforms, it may weaken market competition through price coordination, personalized pricing, data monopoly and other means, exerting a dual impact on consumer welfare. However, the issue of lagging regulation still needs attention. From the dual perspectives of competitive effects and anti-monopoly regulation, this research puts forward policy suggestions for improving the regulatory framework of algorithmic pricing, providing theoretical basis and practical reference for optimizing the competitive order of the digital content industry and promoting the standardized and healthy development of the platform economy. However, the cross-border coordination mechanism cannot be fully established.
