The Regulatory Role of Environmental Regulations

Abstract

Against the backdrop of ecological civilization construction and green transformation, the green innovation strategy of enterprises is an important approach to sustainable development and is studied from a team perspective. Based on high - level echelon and institutional theories, this paper constructs a theoretical model among the executive team's fault zone, environmental regulations, and the enterprise's green innovation strategy, and conducts empirical tests and data analysis using data from China's A - share heavy - polluting listed companies. Research shows that the executive team's fault zone significantly impacts the enterprise's green innovation strategy through influencing the team's decision - making, information integration, and cognitive conflicts, but the team collaboration cost needs consideration. Environmental regulations play a significant regulatory role in their relationship, strengthening the promoting effect of the fault zone on the green innovation strategy, yet policy implementation differences can't be fully eliminated. This research offers theoretical basis and practical inspiration for optimizing the executive team structure, improving environmental regulatory policies, and promoting enterprise green transformation. It reveals the formation mechanism of the enterprise's green innovation strategy from the executive team's heterogeneity perspective, while the dynamic evolution path needs continuous tracking.
