Body Narratives in the Threshold Space

Abstract

In the context of contemporary theatrical art's shift towards immersive and participatory forms, the immersive drama "Sleepless Nights" has turned to constructing threshold spaces to reconfigure the relationship between the audience and the performance. This paper, from the theoretical perspective of body narratives, analyzes how the physical presence and interactive movement of the audience in "Sleepless Nights" generate new narrative possibilities, and explores the generation mechanism and aesthetic characteristics of its participatory aesthetics. This study cannot fully cover all the performance details. The research finds that the play creates a threshold narrative model centered on body experience through the interweaving of spatial layout, performance rhythm, and audience agency. Such research provides strong support for the study of contemporary immersive drama aesthetics and audience experience. This study offers a new theoretical perspective for understanding the aesthetic features and audience experience of contemporary immersive drama and has significant value for theoretical innovation in the practice of drama art.
