Abstract

In the context of contemporary drama art shifting towards audience participation and interactive experiences, the audience's agency in immersive drama has shifted to become an important topic related to the aesthetic experience. This paper takes representative works such as "Sleep No More" as cases, and systematically analyzes the aesthetic experience characteristics of the audience's agency generation path in immersive drama from three dimensions: physical participation, spatial perception, and narrative interaction. This study cannot fully cover all types of dramas. The research finds that immersive drama uses multi-sensory stimulation to reconstruct the narrative space, stimulates the audience's active participation in meaning construction, forms a unique "co-construction" aesthetic experience, and such research provides strong support for the study of drama reception theory. This research expands the research scope of drama reception theory and has important theoretical and practical value for understanding the transformation of contemporary drama art and the construction of audience subjectivity.
