Abstract

In the context where contemporary urban public space governance is confronted with issues such as insufficient participation from multiple entities and lack of vitality, community participatory art has shifted towards the intervention path in urban public space governance. This paper analyzes how community participatory art activates public spaces through resident co-creation of art and other methods of space reconstruction, revealing the internal mechanism of its transformation from single administrative control to multi-party co-governance. This research cannot cover all practical cases. It is found that community participatory art can construct an interactive network of "art community space", promote the construction of residents' subjectivity and the formation of spatial identity, provide innovative paths for urban public space governance, and provide strong support for urban governance research. This research has important theoretical and practical value for promoting the modernization of urban governance and improving the quality of public spaces.
