Keywords:

In the context of escalating ecological crises, contemporary sculpture creation has shifted towards sustainable media practices, becoming an important path for art to respond to ecological issues. This article, based on ecological criticism theory, systematically examines how contemporary sculptors, through methods such as recycling waste materials, the use of natural media, and experiments with biodegradable materials, reconstruct the ethical ecological consciousness of sculpture media. The study holds that the material shift in contemporary sculpture expands the boundaries of art media, participates in ecological restoration through material practice, and engages in cultural reflection, forming a critical and constructive artistic strategy. This research provides strong support for understanding the interaction between art and ecology, and is of significant value in promoting the deep integration of ecological criticism in contemporary art creation. Moreover, the practical operation difficulty cannot be ignored.
