Research on the Value Co-creation and Capture Mechanism of Complements in the Digital Platform Ecosystem

With the rapid development of the digital platform economy, the complements in the platform ecosystem have become important subjects of value creation and are shifting towards mechanism research. Based on the theory of value co-creation, this paper constructs a theoretical framework for complementary value co-creation and value capture, and analyzes the internal mechanism and realization path of complementary participation in value co-creation through resource integration, capability building, collaborative innovation and other means. Research findings show that complements achieve value co-creation through platform empowerment, network embedding, and dynamic capability enhancement. However, value capture is influenced by multiple factors such as platform governance mechanisms, bargaining power, and resource dependence, and long-term stability cannot be guaranteed. The research reveals the interactive relationship between value co-creation and capture among complements in the digital platform ecosystem, providing theoretical basis and management inspiration for platform enterprises to optimize ecosystem governance and promote the sustainable development of complements. However, the cross-industry applicability still needs to be verified.
