Abstract:
With the rapid development of the digital platform economy, the contradiction between platform algorithm governance and gig workers' rights protection has become prominent and shifted towards institutional construction, which is an important topic in labor economics and platform governance research. This paper selects typical domestic and foreign platform enterprises as cases and uses a multi - case comparative analysis method to examine the impact mechanism and rights protection level of different algorithm governance models on gig workers' labor rights. Research shows that measures like algorithm transparency, worker participation in decision - making, and income distribution mechanism optimization can enhance gig workers' income stability, job autonomy, and social security. But deficiencies such as algorithm black boxes, single performance evaluations, and opaque task allocation will exacerbate labor alienation and rights damage. The research constructs a theoretical framework for the rights protection of platform enterprises and gig workers from the algorithmic governance perspective, providing policy inspiration and support for improving platform algorithm governance and promoting the digital platform economy's healthy development. However, its cross - cultural applicability needs verification.
